Are you looking to add to the value of your home? Have you ever considered making improvements to your property? In this article I will be writing about the ways in which my family have gone about increasing the value of our house and the various house improvements we have implemented.
To start with I would like to admit something to the readers of this article. At the outset, prior to making any changes to our house, the plan was not to attempt to increase the value of our property – in fact this was something that had not even crossed our minds. We were purely attempting to make the house a much more pleasurable place to live.
Our house is rather on the large side – this is good however it does take a lot of effort to maintain all of the rooms as well as the rather big garden.
One of the first improvements we implemented was to install electric underfloor heating into two of the rooms. This was a job which was far easier than I had imagined it would be. The whole family love this new underfloor heating as it certainly makes the specific rooms feel a lot cosier.
My wife was eager to revamp the bathroom and to also purchase a brand new modern kitchen therefore these were the next rooms that we worked on.
It was then a case of re-decorating some of the more, what we class as the, important rooms of the house. It would have taken a long long time to re-decorate each and every room.
I have a good friend who works at the local estates agents and he visited our house after we had completed all of these improvements. He stated that we had increased the value of the property by fifteen percent by making the changes – so this is a double bonus – a much nicer home to live in plus the increased value of the property.
